Elements of Design
Elements of Design
Line- the linear marks made with pen or brush or the edge created when two shapes meet. This relates to the dragonfly because we can make lines at the edges of the dragonfly's wings.

Shape- a shape is a defined area of geometric or organic form. The dragonfly is going to have many different shapes and forms in its body, legs, head, and ect.
Direction- lines have directions, horizontal, vertical, ect. each line direction means something different. The direction of the lines have to be chosen carefully for the dragonfly because we do not want to send the wrong message or poprtray something different through it.
Size- the relationship of the area occupied by one shape to that of other. The shapes need to fit perfectly in the dragonfly. They should not be too big or to small because it would change the look or the idea that was tought of in the first place.
Texture-surface quality of shape. for example rough, smooth, ect. The texture of the dragonfly is smooth, no rough textures.
Colour- also called hue. Pure color with out tint or shade. There is no hue involved with the dragonfly. The base coat colors are not being mixed to for a different darker or tinted color nor to have the effect.
Value- lightness or darknes of a color. The colors of the dragonfly are light.
